February 18th, 2010 — Buildify, advertisment, money, sales
If you have a blog, then you are already on the right track to boosting the income of your business. Blogs are incredibly useful for people who are looking to make money online, either as self employed individuals, business owners, or anyone who is just looking to make cash online. Blogs can help businesses build up their careers in quick and easy ways, eliminating years worth of frustration in many cases. Blogs are, simply put, tools for instant publication. Blogs do not have to be online journals, as there is so much more than you can do with them. So when you hear the word ‘blog’ you should be thinking ‘instant publication’ above all else.
Here are some ways that you can boost your income by writing in a corporate blog or business blog online:
1 – More blogs and more blog entries leads to more money.
You can have multiple blogs, especially if each of your blogs has a different purpose. Look at the Microsoft blogging network for example. Every blog has a unique writer and a unique purpose. Just keep in mind that blogs take a while to develop readership. Create one blog, develop it for a while, then create another blog and develop it independently of the first for more sales and business.
2 – Use your blogs and your blog entries to sell yourself, and to sell your products and the services that you offer.
Your blog will be what allows you to become more visible online. It will literally be the premier tool that helps you to build a name online. Create articles and other helpful content for your blog, and your readers will begin to regard you as an expert on the subject that you’re selling. The more information that you provide, the more advantageous your blog will become, because your readers will respect you and will want to buy from you.
3 – Every blog post should be regarded as an advertisement for you and your company.
Every single blog that you write in, and every single blog post that you write for these blogs should be an advertisement for you, even when you’re not directly selling a product or a service. If you want to build credibility and really sell yourself online, blogging is the tool that can make this happen. These blogs show your readers that you are an expert, and readers want to hire experts and buy products from experts, so if you show that you know your stuff within your industry, your blog will be what convinces customers to purchase from you.
Blogging is an enormously important way to reach out to new readers and to attract new customers because it allows you to establish yourself as an expert in your field or industry, and it allows you to indirectly sell your products or services for an increase in business.

January 30th, 2010 — Buildify, comments, content, engaging ideas, extra, feedback, goals, keywords, news, product awareness, promotion
Business blogging is rife with benefits for those who utilize it properly, as it adds significant value to a company’s web presence, increasing search engine visibility and encouraging excellent and meaningful interaction from readers, driving an increase of traffic to your website in the process. But blogging for business is not always easy, because writer’s block does happen to everyone. The following list of business blogging ideas will help to keep you going, creating new and meaningful content for your business blog for a good long time.
1 -Email to Blog Post.
Take any email content that you have, and recycle it in order to create new blog content. If you are like most modern business owners, you probably do your fair share of emailing which can work to your advantage. Re-purpose some of your email content by turning it into blog entry material.
2 -Address reader questions.
Implement a method for your readers to type in their questions to you. Consider adding a small box or a small form to one of your sidebars. All a reader will have to do is ask their question and click submit, and you will receive the question by e-mail so that you can address it in your blog. When the questions relate to your business, your products or your services, not only will this facilitate communication between you and your readers but it also makes for excellent blog content when the questions are relevant.
3 -Keywords.
Use a tool for researching keywords like the one offered by Google so that you can identify the keywords and key phrases that best relate to your business. When you know what people are searching for, it can better help you formulate an idea for a blog post. These tools show you exactly what potential readers are looking for, saving time and effort in determining what you should be writing about.
4 – News.
Follow the media, because there is nothing that influences the behavior of internet searches the way the media does. What is currently being talked about within your niche or industry? Which topics are being regarded as hot topics? Why not talk about them in your own words by turning them into blog entries? For added effectiveness, create Google Alerts so that you can generate an endless stream of blog content ideas and other valuable writing material. Any time something is posted about one of your chosen keywords, Google will e-mail you to let you know. Can it get any easier?
5 – Look to yourself.
Look at your own company in search of blog entries and subject matter that you can write about. What kinds of products and services are you providing to the public? What are the most important components of those services or products. Break this up into various information entries and not only will you be posting search engine-valuable content, but you will also be informing your readers of the value behind your products and services.
In part 2 of this article we will touch on more exciting ideas for creating blog content for your corporate blog.

October 20th, 2009 — audience, bloggers, public relations, reputation, writing style
The first two part of this series discussed a semi-recent post made by Matt Cutts, that covered a few things that corporate bloggers need to know. The last point that we’ll cover in this series is what Matt had to say about blogging angry. There is some very powerful information and insight in his post, and we felt it deserved to be expanded upon in greater detail.
Business owners and corporate bloggers are human, and as such, we are subject to emotions. It is easy to get angry and fire off a few heated blog posts. What is not easy is to undo the damage that has been done. While you may be able to delete a bad post off of your blog, you’ll never be able to delete it from your reader’s minds. Posting angry is something that many of us have been guilty of in the past, but few stop to think about how this can affect them in the future.
The urge to vent to your audience and receive a few pats on the back can be very strong, especially when you’ve had a bad day. Whether you feel you have been treated unfairly, or a competitor is giving you a hard time, it is all too easy to lash out on your blog. This rarely works out the way that you plan however, and unless you want your blog to be associated with your rants, there are a few things that you need to do first.
1. Think before hitting the publish button.
As Matt suggests, never fire off a post and hit publish right away. You need to walk away from the situation for a few minutes to get a better perspective. In fact, after you cool down, you may wonder why you got so upset in the first place. If you haven’t hit post, no one will be the wiser to your problem or your outburst.
2. Think about how your readers will react to your post now – and how future readers will react to it.
You’d be surprised at what gets indexed by search engines. Let’s say that you fire off an angry post, and then forget about it. Six months from now, someone searching for information about your company stumbles across this post in a search. The first thing they see about your company is an ugly rant – what impression do you think that will give? You’ve got to look at the big picture, which isn’t easy when you are upset. That’s where the first point comes in.
3. Will the post tarnish your image, or the image of your company.
It’s one thing if readers think you are a blowhard, but how will that trickle down to your company? You are representing the face of your company through your corporate blog. Do you really want the public to see that face when it’s angry? Think about the consequences before you post, and remember that you are responsible for how others view you in many cases.

September 11th, 2009 — bloggers, research
This is a question that many business owners have when they consider getting into the world of corporate blogging. These days, it seems as though everyone has a blog and that the market is entirely glutted. The good news is, that there are more than enough niches to go around and there are plenty of ways that bloggers can stand out from the crowd, with a little hard work and some perseverance.
The first step is to find out just how many similar blogs you will be going up against. Do some research and subscribe to each of these blogs. Track them for about a month or so to determine how frequently they publish, what kind of content they are producing and whether or not you feel you can do it better.
This market research is incredibly invaluable and will help you determine what steps you will need to take next. For example, if your competitors have very good blogs, but they only publish rarely, you can use this to your advantage. By publishing once a day, or at least a few times a week, you can offer readers instant gratification on that topic. This works very well for micro-niches, and for very popular topics.
The second thing you will learn is whether or not their blog posts are any good. Do they have readers commenting? Learn from the mistakes they made before you make your first post to your blog. This will assist you greatly in spending less time figuring out what your readers want to know, since essentially, you are dealing with the same market.
After you have gone through these steps, the next one to take is to find your own unique voice, and your own unique take on the subject. Unless your blog will be specifically about your company, there is a lot of room to get creative and branch out. For example, if you are using your corporate blog to discuss certain products that are already widely talked about, find a way to make your voice stand out.
Always research the topic before you post to determine first how many posts are similar, and how popular the subject matter is. By using these techniques, you are actually benefiting from the fact that corporate blogging is so popular and using that to your advantage. You will be able to discover new keywords, or even new ideas that will help you improve your blog. Give it a try and see just how much information you can uncover on your competitors as well as the different products you will be posting about.
There are millions of websites and blogs, and while some may never find their readership, with careful work and a lot of research, you can begin to carve out your own section in the blogosphere. Remember, it can take months to find your stride, so give it plenty of time. With promotion, quality content and commitment, your corporate blog can succeed, no matter how much competition you may be facing.

April 10th, 2009 — book review
One of the most important keys to success as a corporate blogger is having the right mindset and the right expectations for your blog. If you go in thinking that it is going to change your entire company and you’ll be at the top of the list of the Fortune 500 within the next year, you’re most likely going to be disappointed. That’s why this week we decided to review a very important book titled: The E-Myth Revisited, Why Most Small Businesses Still Don’t Work And What You Can Do About Yours.
The author starts out discussing why businesses and their efforts fail. From those who can’t properly manage their time and resources, to business owners with skewed perceptions, everything is laid out in a very logical fashion. Even the best of us may be able to spot some trouble areas by reading this book. Even if you are already moderately successful, this book should help you take it to the next level.
The main focus of this book is finding the solution that will work for you. He relies heavily on the turn-key philosophy, and while that may not work for everyone, there is a lot of merit in his advice. By far the best section in this book is the one that deals with Finding a Small Business That Works. The author takes you through each step of building your objectives and implementing a strategy that will work. While it’s not specifically geared towards corporate bloggers, the advice contained herein is incredibly valuable and completely transferable to the blogging world.
While many have asserted that the American Dream is dead and gone, this book shows that it is still there, but we may need to rethink our perceptions of it. By focusing on ways to succeed logically, it is much easier to attain your goals. When you’re working for your company instead of against it, you can be assured of success. The author does a great job of inspiring the reader and relaying tips in such a way that you feel as though you can really put them to use right away. For those looking for a no-nonsense guide to succeeding at corporate blogging or improving their business, this is an incredibly valuable resource that should not be overlooked.
Overall, we highly recommend this book to anyone starting their own corporate blog, or struggling with their own home business. The tips and advice contained here in will make a difference in how you run your blog and how successful you can be. Everyone has the ability to run a successful business, but not everyone is able to achieve the success they dream about. This book does a great job in helping with perception as well as implementation of techniques that will work. If you are looking for the reasons why you may not be succeeding, and you want to change that, this book is well worth the time and money.
